Greg Muller is incredibly self-motivated and driven to achieve. He is always looking for the “edge” in high performance by continually seeking best practice in this area.
During his tenure as a physical training instructor in the New Zealand Army, Greg was very well regarded by soldiers of lower, equal, and senior ranks to himself. He quickly developed a reputation for no-nonsense training and would consistently go the extra mile.
Gregs thirst for betterment, and his ability to apply that knowledge, meant that he was targeted for positions where he could influence and mentor as many soldiers as possible.
One of Gregs particular strengths was his ability to interact on a variety of levels, whether that be at the basic soldier or to the senior commander echelon.
Greg continues to impart his knowledge, on occasion, to a new generation of Army fitness trainers from time to time who appreciate his holistic approach to peak performance.
What stood out to me when I first met Greg was his unrelenting energy and passion to be the best, a personal quality he continually strives to get out of his athletes.
Since that time I have followed Greg’s career with interest as he has progressed up the high performance sports ladder, providing a leading, innovative and holistic approach to the sports teams and clients he has been associated with. Greg’s absolute determination to raise the bar and find new and innovative ways to improve his athlete’s performance is unmatched.
As a former Manager of the World Champion Black Sox Men’s Softball team, I have had the opportunity to meet many High Performance sports providers. Few have demonstrated the drive and passion to be recognised as a world leader in their field quite the same way Greg does.
Greg was a superb Strength Coach and Mentor to me. His vast knowledge coupled with his professionalism and passion for athletic performance were well received. He knew when I needed to be pushed to the next level, and when to have me back off – Not an easy thing to do with fighters!
At the end of 2008 I started training with Greg. Kart racing is deceptively demanding on the body and at the end of my 5 month training cycle I raced at the National Championships in 40 degree heat and took home podium finishes in two classes. I can say without any doubt that without Greg’s training and support I would have not have achieved the results I did.
When working with our group of Elite Force Soldiers Greg displayed the ability to understand the dynamics, tempo, attitude, mentality and physical requirements needed to maintain each soldier to optimum operational standards . Greg is a person who leads by example who demands and always gives 100% to all tasks.
I have worked alongside Greg Muller in a variety of high performance sports environments in the last 6 years. During this time Greg consistently sought to raise the bar with his passion, tenacity and most of all a desire to develop a holistic and innovative structure to support the athletes he was working with. He is constantly seeking to improve his knowledge and skill set in the ever dynamic world of elite sport. This combination will see him remain as a leader in this field.
Greg has a unique ability to draw the best out of an athlete. An excellent task master whose innovative training techniques will stimulate and challenge athletes to reach their absolute potential.
Greg’s understanding of High-Performance as a holistic, fully integrated body~mind process makes him one of the few coaches in the world that teach athletic development as a “Life~enhancing” process. I have personally witnessed Greg’s ability to coach athletes to both personal best performance and optimal self management. In my opinion, that is true success!
Greg Muller is one of the few people I have met who is consistently trying to improve his own knowledge and expertise for the benefit of his athletes.
